I have finally got the engine all but done, and I figured while I have the truck in the garage I might as well get some things done that I have been meaning to sort out for quite a while.
First on the list was search out all the rust and cut back to new metal.
This was down in the passenger wheel arch
All along the cut line is rotten in the corner
Behind the seats was a bit like this, and the driver side was even worse, but I can't find the photo.
I cut it all back to good metal,
Cut and shaped a little plate to fit around the hole,
Welded it in and gave it a quick squirt of primer! onto the next one!
This is the driver side after welding. I have lost the driver foot well shots somewhere so I will get some more next time I'm at the garage.
Other than that the rear wheel arches were starting to look a little worse for wear:
Hey look! daylight!!
So I broke out the angle grinder and started chopping..
And ended up with a massive hole where the wheel arch should be!
Passenger side got the same treatment!
The plan for the rear arches is

nice and simple, and made out of 3mm steel so should be very strong!!
