My Dad's friend Peter had told us about a site in Lydd called Kent Pluggers so we thought we should go down and see what it was like. It's not a huge site but it's pretty good for what it is. We found directions to the site and realised that it was 50 miles away from where we live. It took us about an hour and a half to get there because we were driving the SJ... not a fun drive! On the way there we managed to get the car up to an impressive(?) 60mph! As far as I am aware that is the fastest that car has ever gone! However, whilst driving at this speed the speedo cable snapped... Another job to do when we get back! Oh well, On the pictures!
We had a few drives around the site, and saw this car going around, and it wasn't long before he was stuck...
He had a few tries at getting out but he didn't quite have enough traction to manage it.
So one of the marshals had to come and rescue him
Out at last!
This is what he was stuck on, a lovely railway sleeper embedded in the mud! How nice!
This Land Rover however managed to get through first time!
There were plenty of Land Rovers and Range Rovers there that day, and only a few Suzuki's
This was the run that ended it all for us... Sticky Pudding is a very steep slope into a small patch of water, and a steep climb out. We weren't sure how deep the water was but we thought we would have a go anyway...

And this is the result... One officially stuck/drowned Suzuki...

This is the Land Rover that winched us out...

And made very light work of it.

Yes, It was a little deeper than we first thought
We had to tow the front end around to get past the entrance to the run, and in doing so nearly tipped the car over and back down the hill! Unfortunately no-one got any pictures of that!
At first the car wouldn't run so we took the air filter out, cleaned some of the gunk out and tried again, When the SJ had been towed off the run and into the middle of the site we tried it again and it started to run again...
Here it is! back up and running!
Quit while we are ahead we thought and decided to call it a day and head for home. Well, that was our first visit to Kent Pluggers. We might go back again - it's just a little too far for us to travel...
